The brain is a complex organ that plays a vital role in regulating many of the body's functions, including growth, metabolism, and reproduction. The regulation of these functions is achieved through the actions of various signaling molecules, including hormones. Hormones are chemical messengers that are produced in one part of the body and transported to another, where they bind to specific receptors on target cells and elicit a response.
